Seesaw is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to join the engineering team where you will have the opportunity and responsibilities to help grow the infrastructure we run in AWS to ensure our growing community has a great and reliable experience using Seesaw everyday. Our server side stack uses languages and technologies including Python, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, SQS, Docker, Cloudfront, Redis, and Athena.

What you'll own

  • Hands-on development and improvement of our build and deployment systems
  • Manage Seesaw’s infrastructure running on AWS
  • You will be part of the on-call rotation to investigate and fix system failures, share root-cause analysis with rest of team, and build tools and systems to avoid future failures
  • Develop and integrate with monitoring and alerting tools to improve the visibility and reliability of all production systems
  • Work closely with the rest of the engineering team to ensure existing systems and services are developed and architected with security, scalability, performance and reliability in mind
  • A little about you

  • Strong understanding of CS fundamentals
  • 2+ years of working experience in a similar role where you have demonstrated ownership and managing infrastructure at scale (millions of monthly users)   
  • Prior experience and strong knowledge with Amazon Web Services, Linux and Docker
  • Working knowledge of best security practices, hardening servers and networks
  • Comfortable at the command line (ie: shell scripting, systems administration)
  • Prior experience working with and scaling  DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Redis preferred
  • Experience developing in Python would be a bonus
