Position Summary

The primary responsibility for the sales engineer is to assist the sales representative in all technical aspects of the sales process. The sales engineer will work with the sales team in a pre-sales role to develop and position solutions involving Revel Systems products that meet the prospective customer’s needs and requirements.


The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate and demonstrate the Revel Systems software solutions, and position products relative to competition. This includes performing these discussions and demonstrations to a wide-ranging audience that may encompass highly technical attendees as well as business sensitive attendees like senior executives. The sales engineer also plays a vital role in establishing and nurturing the technical relationship with the customer. Other duties will be assigned as necessary. 


Activities include, but are not limited to, internal and external conference calls, presentations, technical demonstrations, proof of concept trials, responding to RFI and RFP’s, troubleshooting, speaking engagements, trade shows, internal training as well as other sales types of activity.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key and active participant in sales calls, and visits to prospective clients when needed
  • Articulate Revel technology and engineering updates to both business and technical users
  • Manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for Revel products and services
  • Work interdepartmentally with the engineering and sales to craft product value propositions
  • Develop a basic understanding of the competitive market landscape and identify key areas of competitive difference in assigned areas
  • Answer technical questions from clients regarding Revel technology, features and solutions
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with clients’ technical staff
  • Prepare technical proposals and presentations for customer meetings in person and via phone, as needed
  • Demonstrate Revel products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinar sessions, and at field marketing events such as conferences and trade shows, as needed

Desired Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of previous relevant experience
  • Strong technical familiarity with SAAS, a plus if related to POS
  • Experience in Hospitality industry is a plus.
  • Strong Experience (2+years) with networking, server, application and web technologies.
  • Strong knowledge (2+ years’ experience) of basic IP networking is required, including routing, NATs, firewalls, etc.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and methods.
  • Familiarity with iOS ecosystem.
  • Experience with AWS and application containerization techniques.
  • Experience responding to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Salesforce experience preferred 
  • Strong knowledge (2+ years’ experience) of basic IP networking is required, including routing, NATs, firewalls, etc.
